Over 8.5 million people struggle with Parkinson’s disease or Multiple Sclerosis worldwide. Scientists estimate that by 2040 the number of people who have Parkinson’s disease will double.

The NDMA team is developing a smart wristband to support people with these conditions. The project is being developed in collaboration with the University of Zielona Góra. NDMA has just completed work on the product MVP.

About the project:

NDMA is an innovative device designed for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease or Multiple Sclerosis. It consists of two silicone, discreet wristbands. They are equipped with Bluetooth and an advanced module built with a modern, most precise gyroscope and accelerometer available on the market. Thanks to these solutions, the wristbands make everyday life easier for patients and their relatives, providing reliable information about the patient’s condition. They make it possible to monitor the development of the disease and the patient’s motor skills, hand tremor, and movement precision throughout the day. They also indicate any dangerous situations, such as a fall or lack of micro-movements in a patient for a more extended time. Besides, the dedicated mobile application enables the generation of medical reports, which are a valuable indication for the doctor on the disease.

The project was implemented under the AccelBox programme supported by The National Centre for Research and Development.
