KIDNEY EXCHANGE MATCHING PROGRAMME
The computer program (KEMP) is designed to match living kidney donor/kidney recipient pairs to enable kidney transplantation from a living donor as part of a kidney exchange program between pairs around the world. The KEMP program would analyze the data and indicate the best combinations/solutions possible to allow such a kidney exchange between pairs that would not only allow transplantation but would also be the most advantageous in terms of immune selection and selection in terms of other factors affecting transplant results, taking into consideration optimizing the number of transplants.
The KEMP program using discrete optimization solutions will facilitate multi-factor analysis and simulation to enable the optimal selection of donor/recipient pairs. It will be possible to perform analysis and simulations giving each of the factors specific severity weights and customize each simulation performed.
SYSTEM FOR COORDINATION OF CLINICAL TRIAL RESULTS
The aim of our IT system for coordinating the results of clinical trials is to increase the level of effectiveness and efficiency of clinical trials and observational studies.
The system will support the process of clinical trials in the selection of patients and attending physicians, monitoring commissioned/conducted examinations, medical history, and follow-up surveys.
The following modules will be available as part of the system:
- Coordination at the following levels: Research project – company, Research project – doctor, Research project – patient, Doctor – patient.
- Project management: IT methodology will be adopted to support projects, as well as to provide an ultra-factual reporting module (minimum time/data for status display).
- History data: A module enabling the presentation of collected information, data aggregation, and reports.
- Clinical trials and observational studies: monitoring the study, from the study protocol through all stages of clinical trials.
Outsourcing of patients and staff: enabling team mobilization both on the part of patients and the staff conducting clinical trials.
The aim of the project is to develop a prototype of an IT system capable of managing the logistics of medical reagents and transplant organs between medical units, in particular between hospitals, where the project will result in testing the system at the MVP level. The project team will develop an IT solution comprising two systems, TRANSLOG and TRANSDRON.
At project completion, the TRANSLOG system will be tested at the MVP level through registering and shipping a medical delivery using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) between two hospital facilities.
TRANSLOG is a proprietary UAV medical shipping logistics system designed for applications such as the exchange of clinical samples, blood, or transplant organs between hospitals across Poland. The solution is designed for healthcare providers. It enables rapid and secure delivery of items between hospitals, at a reduced cost with reduced delivery times and enhanced security.
Currently, many pilot projects of UAV-powered medical deliveries are being attempted in Poland and across the world. The remaining challenge is the lack of an IT system capable of effective coordination of the logistics exchange and UAV fleet management.
The system is based on the “mobile-first” principle, uses the Symphony 5 PHP framework, and is integrated with Google Maps.
